Regenerative Farming

From remedial to regenerative and volcanic to organic, our experience spans industries from dairying to deer, avocados to alpacas, grapes and orchards to crops and vegetables.

Regenerative Farming

Our Experience is Your Pathway to Progressive Regenerative Farming

At EcoFarm, we help farmers make the shift toward progressive, regenerative agriculture. By focusing on soil health and sustainable practices, we empower you to boost productivity and reduce environmental impact. Join us in building a future where farming benefits the land, animals, and people alike.
We’re often told that we’re the only ones who connect the dots and create a tailored plan for a pathway that is truely regenerative.

Working with You to Grow Stronger Farms

Our team throughout the country is committed to working closely with farmers like you. From soil analysis to personalised guidance, we’re with you in the field, helping you make informed decisions that lead to healthier soils, stronger pastures, and better farm performance. Together, we’ll access and grow your farm’s potential.

Data-Driven Solutions for Better Farming

Our data-driven approach helps you farm smarter and easier, not harder. By analysing soil and field data, we develop personalised strategies to maximise your farm’s output. With the right data, you’ll make better decisions, boosting yields while cutting down on unnecessary inputs.
This will save you time and money.

Reviews

Hear how our farmers have realised increased yields, reduced input costs and have achieved a better lifestyle

After six weeks of Ecofarm blend over our whole farm, the cows are now on the second round and we have the lowest cell count in the vat ever and even that is steadily decreasing still.

These girls have been milked already and at the time this photo was taken (10.16am), they are content enough to just sit and contemplate. The animals will tell you when you are doing it right.

Blood Tests:
When the vet came to take the blood samples she asked how things are going with calving etc.
Petri said really well.
Was asked if we had any more than normal down cows, as this was the trend around Taranaki it seems.
We haven’t.
(And as a side note 😅🙄… we have had 3 dead cows, plus 2 wobbly cows all season so far… guess when they happened……. I’ll give you one guess….The weather was yuck and I neglected/was too lazy to go moving/topping up the Vitus in their feeder😑)

REALLY interesting (only realised it when I looked back at what/when it had happened). Very telling – only in the springers.
And they are the ones demolishing the stuff.
If I didn’t think it was doing anything, they soon told me it is!

Vet asked what we were doing for spreading mag to keep them good, as they are maxing out the mag levels that they can give their cows and are still having issues…
Petri said we have been using a new to us blend – Vitus, and that is it… no dusting, no spraying, no trough dosing.

And now… these blood results…! AND that’s on land that we know is not healthy too!!

Calves:
We’ve had awesome calves all season.
Brand new calf shed which has helped a lot.
Ran out of room and had to go to an existing barn.
Sprayed it out etc, but a week in the calves tested positive for crypto and rotovirus 😑😑
Petri has just put out Vitus to them the other day.
Already watched specifically the main unwell animals make their way away from the mob to go and stand by the Vitus trough.
and dose up on it.

We had reduced the herd from 600 to 480 cows and achieved the same production of 1000kgMS/Ha.

We use Vitus from Paeroa with our young stock – they devour it and the vet commented on how quiet, well grown and healthy they are.

For the spring season we noticed an improvement in the health of the cows with only one with sore feet, and no retained placentas. They are cycling really well too now.

I just thought I’d call and let you know that we are ecstatic with the results. There is no grass anywhere except on our place (this was a call in mid February).

It’s been a while since we had plenty of cover through summer when it is this dry! Yes, we did the sand treatment, followed with the recommended fertiliser. We have also noticed a reduction in our thistle problem.

Over all, we are hoping for a bumper crop of lambs this year as the ewes are in excellent condition compared to last year. All our other stock are looking pretty amazing as well.

I’m Sold! Girls eggs are super strong now – had one particular hen laying really thin shelled eggs (even with grit, good feed etc.) – her eggs have hardened up significantly.

Definitely recommend! Thank you :-)

Hey you guys, I’ve been wanting to let you know how amazing Vitus has been for our 4 horses.
They’ve been having it regularly for a couple of years now, through the summers I put a bunch in a feed bucket and just leave it in whatever paddock they’re in. I do put it under cover when it rains as I notice they’re not so into it when the bucket fills up with water 😁
Through the winter I’ve simply added it to a bit of feed we give them every day during that time. They’ve pretty much had Vitus every day for the last two years.
Well, compared to the two years before this… (we’ve had them here for about 4 years) before I started giving them Vitus, they all had hooves that would start breaking when they got a bit long, especially the thoroughbred. All of them got lame with hoof abscesses at least once through the winters, and all had pretty bad rain scald, which I understand is actually a fungal problem of the skin where they lose hair. Once again, not surprisingly, the thoroughbred was the worst off with this.
The last 2 winters have been amazing! Not a touch of rain scald to be seen on any of them, their hooves have become so beautiful, the thoroughbred still a little rough round the edges, but nothing like before. The others all have the most beautiful solid healthy hooves, even when they get a bit long between trims.
At the end of this winter our thoroughbred did get a hoof abscess, but much less debilitating, and healed in record time, compared to last year. None of the others have had any hoof abscesses at all the last 2 winters.
They all kept excellent condition through this past winter, physically and emotionally well. The thoroughbred even grew a bit more of a decent winter coat, for her. And all of them just looked, and still look, so healthy and vibrant.
I think having all our horses on Vitus has made a massive difference to their health. It certainly made for a cruisier winter for all of us 😄
I’m rapt, and very glad I found this great product, thanks for producing it! Vitus is a cost effective way of avoiding vet bills 😁👍🏼
