The objective of getting the highest production of quality products can only come from healthy soils.
We believe for an effective fertiliser programme we need to know what we’re starting with, farm/orchard specific data and an objective.

Ecofarm’s unique soil testing specifications are used to put in place cost-effective solutions to enable effective utilisation of your existing nutrient reserves.
This is an ongoing process because as soils get deeper, you are effectively increasing the productive area of your farm.
Comparing the information obtained in these three steps allows us to accurately assess if mineral applications are required and allows us to prescribe a farm specific fertiliser blend to meet your objectives.
Measurement of the TOTAL amount of nutrients held in your soil:
This
is an aggressive extraction that extracts the nutrients held in your
soil sample, much like a mining assay. Most farmers are unaware of the
financial value of the nutrients held in their soils that are not
reported in basic soil tests.
Measurement of the AVAILABLE nutrient: This is carried out using an extractant that replicates the natural conditions in the soil that facilitate the mobilisation of nutrients to plant availability.
These three steps lead to a cost-effective soil fertility programme that:
Your unique soil test results and our code-cracking analysis will diagnose what the limiting factors are in your soil and farming experience. This is where the magic of your management and our analysis and insights meet to correct the biological function and energy systems of your farming operation. A faster, smarter, healthier way to naturally increase farm profit with minimal interference.
Through the analysis your soil test results, we compare the total amount of nutrients against the plant extractable nutrients. This allows us to accurately assess if, and what mineral applications are required. Your test results allows us to prescribe a farm specific fertiliser blend that gives you cost-effective solutions to productivity.
What makes our anaylsis of your unique soil test results even more special is our ability to enable effective utilisation of your existing nutrient reserves.
Pulling out of the soil 'bank' all those deposits that have sat there quietly waiting for the right keys to unlock the vault.
When we compare and contrast your soil test information we can then design a custom fertiliser blend that covers many different facets of the productive capacity of your soil.
Years of trials, testing and experience have allowed us to build these mixes into fertiliser blends that are suitable for both air and ground spreading. The quantities we use in these fertiliser mixes, the materials are not antagonistic to each other and allow for easy and safe handling.
Facilitates plant and animal waste decomposition, nutrient recycling and plant nutrient uptake
Increases nitrogen fixation, nutrient availability and soil carbon accumulation
Elevates and maintains the health and proper function of the soil, plant and animals
Creates electricity in the soil through sunlight which stimulates biological activity and nutrient uptake
Helps to neutralise aluminium toxicity and increase plant silicon availability
Provides a food source for the live biology to carry out their functions
We believe that the correct role of any farm environmental plan is to confirm that maximum production is being obtained without causing environmental damage.
The reality is, a comprehensive fertiliser and management programme based on empirical data, reported from testing samples that are farm specific, gives the information required to cross reference with environmental programmes, nutrient budgets, carbon emissions, carbon accumulation and soil fertility requirements.
We believe that only data derived from soil testing samples that are
collected from the farm accurately represent that farm's negative or
positive influence on the environment.
We believe that only data derived from soil testing samples that are collected from the farm accurately represent that farm's negative or positive influence on the environment.
It is critical to know what is really happening on your farm, so only the test results from soil and groundwater runoff samples collected from your farm should be included in any farm environment document. If issues are identified by testing in this manner, they can be remedied with fertiliser and management changes.
The information produced from our testing protocols can include total
held soil nutrients, available soil nutrients, soil organic carbon
testing and groundwater runoff testing. When incorporated into our farm
mapping tool, these results can create cost-effective farm environment
plans and nutrient budgets.
These plans meet all the requirements of any regulatory authority farm environment plan and / or nutrient budget, and they are truly farm specific. This information is not based on modelling and is specific to the farm.
This is reported on our nutrient budget format and is accepted by auditors at dairy shed inspections.
Our farm specific testing is showing that healthy soils with good soil organic carbon levels lead to clean water.
With this, you have the confidence that the data you’re utilising pertains to your property and any decisions made are based on extensive knowledge of what’s actually going on in your soil and its productive capacity.
